What is Polygel?
Polygel is an undercoat with gel painted on top. It can be used as a base on your natural nails or applied to tips. It can also be applied on top of other polishes to create some awesome nail art designs due to its ability to be shaped very easily. A Polygel manicure should take about 60 minutes.
Benefits of Polygel
Polygel is almost completely odourless and will not irritate your nose.
Like some other products, Polygel needs to be buffed before it is cured under UV light. Polygel has larger particles that fall directly to the floor rather than fly around in the air. If you have sensitive sinuses Polygel is a winner for you.
Light, strong, & flexible
Polygel is around 25% lighter than other products, and also stronger and less prone to breaking. Polygel will also withstand a little more bending before breaking compared to other products. While we always urge you to be careful with your nails, Polygel gives a little bit more piece of mind that it can withstand wear and tear.
Polygel should last around 2-4 weeks and can be touched up with an infill.
Easy to wash your hair
Some nail treatments like acrylics can create creases in your nails. When you wash your hair, individual strands can get caught in the creases and painfully pull your hair out. Polygel creates a seamless finish with no creases.
Grow and repair your natural nails
A client came to us with very short nails that were damaged from acrylics. Below are her natural nails after 3 months with Polygel:
We have two ways to help you grow your natural nails. The first method is we can apply Polygel on your natural, short nails and every 2-3 weeks we apply an infill. The second method is to apply Polygel with tips and an infill every 2-3 weeks until your natural nails underneath are long enough so we can put the Polygel on your nails.
