What is Builder Gel?

Builder gel is a basecoat that’s thicker than a regular polish base coat. Builder gel is stronger and will be less prone to breaking, meaning that it will be easier to grow your nails. The self-levelling properties of builder gel creates a smooth foundation and protects your natural nails from damage.

Benefits of Builder Gel

The key reason to use builder gel is to protect and grow your natural nails. While builder gel is applied, your natural nails underneath can grow freely. If your nails are thin and damaged from frequent manicures, builder gel will give your nails the time to heal and recover it’s lost thickness.

Builder Gel - FAQ

What is builder gel?

A thicker, flexible gel we brush over the natural nail. It cures under LED, adds strength, and can be left clear, sculpted for a little length, or finished with colour or art. Lighter than acrylic, longer-lasting than standard gel polish.

What are the benefits of builder gel?

Strength for softer or peeling nails. Three to four weeks of wear. Lighter and more flexible than acrylic, so it feels natural on the hand. Takes colour and art beautifully.

What is the difference between builder gel, polygel, and Apres Gel-X?

All three add strength or length, but they work differently.

  • Builder gel is brushed straight onto the natural nail. Best for strength and modest length.

  • Polygel is a putty we sculpt and cure. Best for longer, bolder shapes.

  • Apres Gel-X uses pre-shaped soft gel tips bonded to the nail. Fastest for natural-looking full-length extensions, easy soak-off removal.
